Gas Work is Not a DIY Job.
Handling natural gas lines requires specialized tools, advanced pressure testing equipment, and technical certification. A minor error can lead to hazardous leaks, fires, or code violations that void your home insurance.
Hometown Heating and Cooling provides TSSA-certified technicians who ensure:
- Full compliance with Ontario Natural Gas and Propane Installation Codes (B149.1).
- Proper permitting and documentation for all new installations.
- Rigorous 24-hour pressure tests on all new service lines.

Mack is a great furnace man. Took the time to teach me about the furnace humidifier. Answered all my questions with kindness and confidence. I feel we are in good hands and the furnace is ready to go for the winter.Posted on Google![]()

Gas Lines FAQ
Can I run my own gas line for a BBQ or stove?
In short: No. In Ontario, gas line installation must be performed by a TSSA-certified technician. Handling gas lines without a license is not only illegal but extremely dangerous. The Hometown team ensures every connection is pressure-tested, leak-checked, and installed strictly to current safety codes.
What appliances can Hometown Heating and Cooling hook up?
If it runs on gas, we can handle it! We specialize in running lines for:
- Gas stoves and ovens
- Outdoor BBQs and fire pits
- Clothes dryers
- Garage heaters
- Pool heaters and backup generators
I’m tired of refilling propane tanks. Can you hook my BBQ to the house?
Absolutely! This is one of our most popular services. We can run a “quick-connect” gas line directly to your deck or patio. You’ll never have to worry about a propane tank running out in the middle of a steak dinner again—you’ll have a “forever” fuel source.
